Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh (ENS) — Governor ND Tiwari inaugurated the grand temple of Sri RadhaPartasarathi temple ( Hindu Temple ) designed by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on Sunday. The grand-looking the Iskcon temple was designed at Somaladoddi village on NH 7 at a price of Rs 5 crore. The Governor put in the idols within the Iskcon temple and conducted pujas. Describing the Iskcon temple as a boon to the people here, Tiwari hoped it might infuse devotion tatvam among people. He lauded the services of ISKCON that were propagating harmony and brotherhood and spirituality.

Minister for Agriculture N. Raghuveera Reddy, lauding the general public services of ISKCON, ( Iskcon Temple Anantapur ) said the organisation was supply nourishing food to students of government colleges in regarding 200 villages in and around Tirupati, and in agreement to increase the services to Anantapur district.

Anantapur was a grip of strategic importance for British Indian Army during the Second war. The JNTU-CEA campus was once a bunker for land artillery; the remains of which might still be found on the field location.
